bed

daylight comes and i hide my eyes, last nights secrets our own demise
the sun leaks in beckoning me outside, as much as i want to go out i lay in bed to hide
my eyes sandy and cloudy, not ready for the day
my body paralyzed, feeling the day fade away

i rouse myself, reach inside for brute strength
roll on over, because that's where my body wishes me stay
betrayed by myself, my cravings of selfish ponder
feelings of guilt inside, there's no reason left to wonder

this bed my jailhouse, this bed my comfort
this bed comes calling to me, this bed of hurt
